Popular NASCAR driver Danica Patrick has been named the 2016 spokesperson for September’s Life Insurance Awareness Month, LIAM sponsor Life Happens announced recently.
“Our aim at Life Happens is to remain on the cutting edge in this industry — to do the things you wish you could, but can’t (or compliance won’t allow). That’s why this year we’ve chosen professional race car driver Danica Patrick as our spokesperson for Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM),” says Marvin Feldman, President and CEO of Life Happens.
“In the past we’ve had celebrities with a story of loss. This year, we wanted to do something different — and very exciting — to reinforce the message that living without life insurance is a risk you don’t have to take. Danica takes risks as part of her job, but has had life insurance since the beginning of her career.”
Life Happens is confident Patrick will make a passionate advocate who will advance the LIAM mission. “I’m excited to inspire people to stop taking unnecessary risks and get the life insurance coverage they need,” Patrick says.
Patrick is the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel auto racing — her win in the 2008 Indy Japan 300is the only women’s victory in an IndyCar Series race and her third place in the 2009 Indianapolis 500 is the highest finish there ever by a woman. Since the 2013 season, Patrick has competed full-time in the top-tier NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and became the first female NASCAR driver to win a Sprint Cup Series pole, turning in the fastest qualifying lap since 1990 in qualifying for the 2013 Daytona 500. Her eighth place in that eventis the highest finish for a woman in the history of NASCAR’s signature race.
In advance of September, Life Happens will make available a full suite of LIAM resources including a wide range featuring Danica and her message, in print, video and for social media.
“NASCAR is now the biggest spectator sport in the country. To have Danica on our team for LIAM is great honor and a ‘win’ for us — and for you as you ramp up your LIAM plans,” Feldman says.
